Giving

Gift giving is an activity at the very heart of the Christian faith.  The Biblical record chronicles the activity of God as a gift-giver and demonstrates how persons of faith have responded with gifts of their own.  This understanding of our giftedness, the heart of Christian stewardship, provides a powerful motivation for giving-both now and in the future.

As persons who have been blessed, we are appropriately are called to give.  What we have has been given to us and will pass again to another.  The faithful take care that some of this is given back to God.  We are called to invest in the kingdom yet to come, establishing “a firm foundation for the coming age.”

Goals and Gifts

Whether you want to eliminate taxes or benefit from an increased income stream, there is a gift to fit every objective.  And, no matter what you give, rest assured that you will be supporting a cause close to your heart.  All contributions given to Trinity are used to enable this congregation to provide a variety of ministries that reach people with the good news of the gospel.

Ways to Give

Gifts of Cash are the simplest gifts to give. Your cash gifts are deductible for up to 50% of your adjusted gross income for the taxable year, but any excess is deductible over the next five years. You may give your gifts at worship services in the offertory plate or by an automatic withdraw from your bank account, you just tell us how often and how much. Offertory envelopes are also available to complete at home ahead of time.  To initiate automatic withdraw, change or inquire your pledges, or order envelopes please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. The Trinity Foundation

If you would like to receive a constant stream of income for life, cut taxes and make a charitable gift, you might want to look into attractive plans that allow you to accomplish these goals through the Trinity Foundation.

The Trinity Foundation was established to help members of the Trinity family facilitate various types of estate gifts that would benefit both you as the donor and Trinity.  An endowed fund was set up as part of the foundation to receive gifts that will assure the future of Trinity.  Only the interest earned on the principle in the endowed fund will be used by Trinity while the principle remains intact and continues to generate income for the church.

A Charitable Gift Annuity is a simple gift agreement set up between you and the Florida United Methodist Foundation that enables one or two persons to receive a lifetime income that is partially tax free.

A Charitable Remainder Trust can be set up by you as an irrevocable gift to Trinity.  There are two basic types of Charitable Remainder Trusts: Annuity Trusts (CRAT) and Unitrusts (CRUT).  Annuity Trusts pay a fixed amount of income to the donor and Unitrusts pay a percentage based on the annual value of the trust.

Retirement Plan Assets

Did you know that nearly half your retirement plan assets can be eaten away by taxes at your death?  Like many people, you are probably aware that the accumulation of assets in your retirement plan is the basis for a financially secure future.  To preserve your retirement assets after your lifetime, consider the benefits of using them in a totally different way than you might have thought.  Retirement accounts are often exposed to income taxes and estate taxes, at a combined marginal rate that could rise to 65% or even higher on large, taxable estates.  These taxes can be avoided or reduced through carefully planned charitable gifts.

Gifts of Life Insurance have become a very popular and easy way for people to make a donation to their church or other charitable organization. Making such a gift can be as easy as simply naming the church as one of the beneficiaries of a life insurance policy. One can also donate the policy itself.

Gifts of Securities can be a great way to make a larger donation while avoiding any capital gains taxes. One can donate appreciated stock held more than a year and pay no capital gains taxes.

Gifts of Real Property such as land, houses, buildings or other non cash assets can be made to the church.
